Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
Add volume, smooth wrinkles, and contour facial features with hyaluronic acid-based fillers. Achieve a plump, hydrated, and youthful appearance.
Treatment areas
Cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds, jawline, under-eye hollows.
Longevity
Results typically last 6-18 months depending on the area and filler used.
Biostimulators (Sculptra, Radiesse)
Stimulate your body’s natural collagen production to achieve long-lasting, subtle volume restoration.
Ideal for
Larger areas such as cheeks, temples, and jawline. Results develop gradually over several weeks.
Dermal fillers are gels based on hyaluronic acid — a sugar molecule your skin already produces — used to restore volume that has been lost, support structures that have descended, and refine contours that were never quite balanced.
Filler is where injector skill separates most visibly. The same syringe can look invisible or obvious depending on the plane it is placed in, the product chosen for that tissue, and whether the injector treated the face as a whole or chased one feature. Dr. Owlia assesses proportion across the full face before any product is drawn up.
Cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds, jawline, chin and under-eye hollows. Under-eyes and temples are higher-risk areas that call for particular anatomical care, and are not treated on a first visit without a full assessment.
Results are visible immediately, settle over two weeks as swelling resolves, and last from six to eighteen months depending on the product and the area treated.
How long do dermal fillers last?
Between six and eighteen months, depending on the product and where it is placed. Firmer fillers in structural areas like the jawline and cheeks last longest; lip filler, which sits in a very mobile area, tends toward the shorter end.
Will my lips look overdone?
Not if the volume matches your anatomy. Overfilled results usually come from repeated top-ups without letting previous product settle. Dr. Owlia treats conservatively and reviews at two weeks before adding anything further.
Is there any downtime?
You can return to normal activity immediately. Expect some swelling and the possibility of bruising for a few days, particularly with lip treatment. Most people plan around a fortnight before an important event.
Can dermal filler be dissolved?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which is one of the reasons they are the preferred choice for most facial areas. This is also the emergency treatment for vascular complications.
What is the difference between filler and Botox?
Botox relaxes muscles to soften lines caused by movement. Filler adds volume and structure where tissue has been lost. They address different problems and are frequently used together.
Are dermal fillers safe?
They are very safe when placed by a practitioner who understands facial vascular anatomy. The serious risk — accidental injection into a blood vessel — is rare and is managed with protocols Dr. Owlia both practises and teaches to other injectors.
