Procedure details
Quick 15-30 minute procedure with minimal downtime. Effects appear in 5-14 days and last for 3-4 months.
Botox is a purified neuromodulator that temporarily relaxes the specific muscles responsible for expression lines. It is the most studied aesthetic injectable in the world and, in trained hands, the most predictable.
The goal at this clinic is softening, not freezing. Dr. Owlia maps which muscles are actually driving each line and doses conservatively — you keep the ability to frown, smile and raise your brows, but the etched lines those movements leave behind become far less visible.
Botox works best on dynamic lines — the ones that appear when you move. Deeply etched static lines that remain at rest usually respond better to a combination of Botox and filler or skin treatments, which is something a consultation will clarify honestly.
Treatment takes about fifteen minutes with no downtime. Results begin appearing in three to five days, settle fully at two weeks, and typically last three to four months.
How long does Botox take to work?
You will usually notice softening within three to five days, with the full effect settled by two weeks. Any review or adjustment is best done at the two-week mark rather than earlier.
Will Botox make my face look frozen?
Not when it is dosed to your anatomy. Dr. Owlia treats the specific muscles driving each line and uses conservative dosing, so expression is preserved. A frozen look is a dosing and placement decision, not an inevitable side effect.
How long do the results last?
Typically three to four months. Longevity varies with dose, muscle strength, metabolism and how long you have been treated — regular patients often find intervals lengthen over time.
Does Botox hurt?
Most patients describe it as a brief pinch. The needle is very fine and no numbing is usually needed, though it can be arranged if you are anxious about needles.
What should I avoid beforehand?
Where your own physician approves it, avoiding alcohol and blood-thinning supplements for a couple of days beforehand reduces bruising risk. Never stop prescribed medication without medical advice.
What areas can be treated?
Most commonly forehead lines, frown lines between the brows and crow's feet. Botox is also used for jaw slimming, gummy smile, neck bands and excessive sweating.
